![]() ![]() Slammed started out like any other YA where the lead Layken Cohen aka Lake, grieving for the loss of her father’s death and moving with her mother, Julia and a 9 year old brother, Kel, from Texas to Ypsilanti, Michigan which she is not happy about but her mother has been offered a job in Michigan that would pay much better than any she could get in Texas, and the family financial situation is such that she doesn’t have the option of turning it down. It’s a wonderful thing to say out loud the things you can’t say. I really love the slam poetry concept in this book it’s amazing, heart wrenching. As always this book also contains a powerful topic which always connects our main characters in Coho’s novels i.e. This book is about love & loss, life & death, about moving on after the biggest loss of your life for the sake of your loved ones. ![]() Slammed was Colleen Hoover’s debut novel. Punch it in the face when it needs a good hit. ![]()
